Moroccan Textiles & Embroidery
Morocco’s hand woven textiles are saturated with colors influenced by the sun and climate. Most notably made of cotton and sabra, a Moroccan silk, fabric is fashioned into clothing as common as jellabas, the full-length traditional garments, and as fanciful as elaborate antique curtains having been painstakingly woven for years by mother and daughter in preparation for marriage. Colorful weaving is inventively fashioned into wraps, curtains, and bedcovers. Simple cotton or silk is transformed into unique custom pieces by fine brocade and embroidery featured on pillows, tablecloths and dining sets, and velvet or gold and silver lame silk kaftans.
